Is a nursing pillow safe for baby to sleep on?

No. Never allow baby to sleep on a nursing pillow. Boppy nursing pillows are created for adult-supervised awake-time only. Check out our Safe Product Use page for additional information.

Additional Warning Information:

- Do not allow baby to lie face down on a nursing pillow

- To prevent positional asphyxia, keep baby’s airway open at all times.

- Do not use in crib, cradle, bassinet, playpen, play yard. Not for use on a bed.

- Do not leave baby unattended – adult supervision is required.

- Improper use of this product could result in serious injury or death.

how do I clean my boppy product?

Nursing Pillow Instructions

Bare Naked Insert: Machine wash delicate cycle, 30ºC/85ºF. Tumble dry low on delicate cycle. While drying Bare Naked insert, throw a sneaker or tennis ball (wrapped in a pillow case) in the dryer to help the pillow keep its shape. Do not iron. Do not dry clean

Slipcover: Machine wash separately, delicate cycle, 30ºC/85ºF. Tumble dry low on delicate cycle. Cool iron as needed. Do not dry clean.

Best Latch Care Instructions

Remove foam insert before machine washing on delicate cycle. If belt is detachable, remove before washing. Machine wash pillow separately, delicate cycle. 30ºC/85ºF. Do not bleach.

Hybrid Baby Carrier Instructions

Machine wash with mild detergent, delicate/gentle cold, 30°C (65°F - 85°F). Non-chlorine bleach as needed. Tumble dry delicate/gentle, low. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

how often should i replace my boppy® nursing pillow?

New baby? It may be time for a new nursing pillow! Boppy® Nursing Pillows are made to last with high quality materials. But over time, the fluff may slowly compact. If your Boppy Nursing Pillow feels more flat than fluffy, it is time to treat yourself to a new one.

Does the boppy® nursing pillow contain flame retardants?

We take great care in the quality of our products. The fabric and filling in the Boppy® Nursing Pillows (and slipcovers) are exempt from California Bureau of Home Furnishings flammability standards and have never contained harmful flame-retardant chemicals.

The Bare Naked® Pillow insert is filled with virgin polyester fiberfill and is upholstered in fabric that is 90% polyester and 10% cotton. What the Boppy Nursing Pillow wears on the outside is up to you! It's wardrobe consists of slipcovers made from soft cotton blends, to minky plush or organic cotton.

do you offer a nursing pillow for twins?

At this time, we don’t offer a Boppy® Nursing Pillow specifically for twins. The Nursing Pillow may be used to feed both newborn babies at once in the ‘football hold’ until they outgrow it.

Where are your products made?

The manufacturing process for Boppy® Products begins in China.

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint Boppy products are fulfilled, packaged and shipped from USA factories.

What is the Boppy Limited Warranty?

At The Boppy Company, our goal is to make your life as a new parent or parent-to-be more comfortable. We make innovative, superior products for parents and babies.

We warrant that all Boppy® products, except for Boppy® Healthcare products, will be free from material defects, damage caused by improper care prior to the time of purchase, and workmanship defects for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover normal wear or damage from misuse, abuse, improper storage and handling, failure to follow the instructions on installation, accident, unauthorized repair, or alteration. On this page, “Boppy® Products” means all covered products (i.e., all Boppy® products except for Boppy® Healthcare products).

If your Boppy® Product is defective and is eligible for this limited warranty, we will repair or replace your product at our discretion. Please read our full Boppy Limited Warranty.

what should i do if my boppy product gets damaged in the washing machine?

Please make sure to follow the care instructions provided on the Boppy product tag or from the Boppy Product Care Hub. What is the boppy controversy?

Boppy Nursing Pillows have always been awake-time only products and should never be used for sleep. Nursing pillows, or any soft surface, are not for baby’s sleep. While our nursing pillows are not sleep products, we have always promoted the AAP’s Safe Sleep guidelines in order to remind parents of the recommended safe place for baby to sleep: alone, on their back, and on a firm, flat surface free of blankets, pillows, nursing pillows and plush toys. As stated on our products’ warning labels, using awake-time products for infant sleep can lead to suffocation, asphyxiation, or death. This is a risk caregivers should never take.

Why was the Boppy lounger recalled?

In 2021, the Boppy Newborn Lounger, a product designed for parents to place infants during supervised awake-time only, was voluntarily recalled due to instances of misuse where caregivers used that product against Boppy’s instructions and warnings, and in some instances for sleep.  While the Boppy Newborn Lounger was not a sleep product, we have always promoted the AAP’s Safe Sleep guidelines in order to remind parents of the recommended safe place for baby to sleep: alone, on their back, and on a firm, flat surface free of blankets, pillows, nursing pillows and plush toys.  The safety of families is our top priority, which is why Boppy voluntarily recalled the Newborn Lounger. 

Were the Boppy Nursing Pillows or any other Boppy product ever recalled?

No, the Boppy Nursing Pillows have never been recalled. The recall only applied to the Boppy Newborn Lounger, which was voluntarily recalled in 2021.  Consumers can contact The Boppy Company for instructions on how to dispose of their Newborn Lounger and get a refund. Are Boppy nursing pillows still sold?

Yes! Boppy has 3 nursing pillows to fit your feeding needs.

  1. Our Original Nursing Pillow has been supporting moms for almost 35 years, and is estimated to have been used for a total of 25 BILLION hours by moms!
  2. The Boppy Best Latch Nursing Pillow was developed in collaboration with a breastfeeding consultant to support women through the different phases of the nursing journey, and is designed to fit all body types.
  3. The Boppy Anywhere Nursing Pillow was designed with an ergonomic strap, and is perfect for the minimalist, or for use as a second nursing pillow for a mom on-the-go.

Are Boppy pillows safe?

Yes! Product safety is Boppy’s #1 concern. Boppy products are rigorously tested to ensure our products meet the highest safety and quality standards. Additionally, Boppy is a leader in educating parents on correct product use, proper warning labeling, normalizing safe environments through images, and safe-sleep practices. Boppy Nursing Pillows are NOT for sleep. Please never use any nursing pillow in the baby’s sleep environment, and always follow the AAP’s “ABCs of safe sleep” – alone, on the baby’s back, in a crib or bassinet.

Are Boppy pillows safe for newborns?

A successful nursing journey starts at the beginning, so all Boppy nursing pillows can be used to nurse your baby from day one. As a longtime partner of First Candle, an organization dedicated to reducing SIDS, Boppy is a leader in educating parents on correct product use, proper warning labeling, normalizing safe environments through our images, and safe-sleep practices. As a caregiver, understanding correct product use is most vital during infancy. Infants are at a higher risk of SIDS, and it is important to ensure proper use of all products at all times. 

How long can you use a Boppy pillow?

  • However long you plan to nurse or bottle feed your baby, Boppy Nursing Pillows will come in handy! Many of our Boppy parents tell us that their pillow becomes a keepsake as their child ages, or it transforms from a nursing pillow to a video gaming or reading support for their children once they get older! Some families even find that the nursing pillow acts as a comfy pet bed once baby and mom have outgrown its original purpose.

What age group is the Boppy pillow designed for?

Boppy pillows are designed for use by caregivers and can be used for nursing through your whole breastfeeding journey. Bring it with you to the hospital when you give birth, and a lactation consultant can teach you how to use it. It provides back relief when bottle feeding and is an excellent tool for feeding your baby! Just please follow all product warnings and instructions for proper and safe use.

How do I change or cancel my order on boppy.com?

If you order has not shipped yet, you can call 1-888-903-001 or email boppyweborders@stitchco.com to change or cancel your order. Once an order placed on boppy.com has shipped, no changes or cancellations can be made.

What is your return and exchange policy?

Products eligible for return are accepted up to 30 days from the date of purchase on boppy.com unless otherwise noted. We do not accept returns from purchases made at other retailers. The Boppy Company, LLC accepts returns on non-sale merchandise that is unused and unopened or items that have been found to be defective. Shipping charges are non-refundable. The Boppy Company, LLC is not responsible for lost returns. All returns are subject to the discretion of The Boppy Company, LLC.

Only gift orders from boppy.com may be exchanged. Exchanges are valid for unused and unopened items or those that have been found to be defective for up to 30 days from the date of purchase, unless otherwise noted. Exchanges are for like items/ like price only. Shipping charges are non-refundable. The Boppy Company, LLC is not responsible for lost returns. All exchanges are subject to the discretion of The Boppy Company, LLC.

If your product is defective and it was purchased over 30 days ago (but is less than one-year old), please refer to our one-year Boppy Limited Warranty for replacement.

where do you ship?

We currently only ship to the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. We do not ship internationally at this time. We do not ship to APO, FPO or PO Boxes.

How much is shipping?

We are pleased to offer flat rate shipping for $8.00. All flat rate orders are shipped via Fed Ex Ground.

Expedited shipping services are offered via Fed Ex 2-Day Shipping, and pricing is dependent upon the total dimensional weight of your order.

Orders over $55.00 ship for free!

can i pick up my order from the office in Golden, colorado?

No. This is our corporate office and orders are not shipped or processed here. You can pick up Boppy products at your local Target, buybuyBaby, or Walmart.

where can I purchase boppy products if I live in Canada?

Boppy products can be found at multiple locations such as Pottery Barn Kids CA, Buy Buy Baby CA, and Amazon.ca.

Boppy.com does not ship internationally.

what can i do if i have not yet received my order?

A shipping confirmation email with tracking information was sent to you when the order shipped. If you completed checkout with a phone number instead of email, the tracking information was texted to you.

Use your tracking # to track your shipment on UPS.

If you do not receive the tracking email, please check your spam and junk folders in your email. Your order should arrive 5-8 days after being placed. If it has been longer than 8 days and you have not received your order, please contact info@boppy.com.

Please note if you ordered a Custom Boppy Feeding Support, your order will take an additional 5-7 business days to ship.
