Position Description: General Counsel

Location: Flexible

Office location, Golden, Colorado

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience $125K - $225K annual depending on 30 or 40 hours/week

This hands-on position will report to the CEO. He/she will oversee and manage the provisions of all legal services and provide strategic guidance, consultation while supporting internal stakeholders, external partners, and as a member of the leadership team also provide support to our Italian parent. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• • Interface with the Consumer Products Safety Commission concerning product oversight and rulemaking
  • Work with governmental affairs subject matter experts internal and external
  • Litigation management
  • Intellectual Property, including management of existing and forecasted patents, trademarks & copyrights, domestic and international
  • Risk management and insurance policy management, oversight and coordination with broker and parent company
  • Vendor Contracts, including established agreements with E-Commerce vendors
  • Supplier Contracts, domestic and international
  • Compliance with consumer privacy matters across the multiple states
  • Document retention/destruction policies
  • Work with CFO on HR
  • Possibility of one (1) direct report
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by CEO or Artsana

• Juris Doctor required. Active license to practice law in Colorado preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience either in a law firm or in-house legal department. The ideal candidate will have experience in both settings.
• Working knowledge of U.S. consumer products regulations and statutes. Prior experience interfacing with the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong competency in Microsoft-Office (primarily PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Motivated to learn and do vs directing and handing off.
• Cultural fit is important.
• Team player who can lead and make decisions.
