The Boppy Company presenting a $10,000 check to Denver Health Foundation

Unique Denver Health Foundation’s Newborns In Need Program Gives Moms Head Start; Receives $10K Boost from the Boppy Company

Denver Health Foundation’s Newborns in Need program will have its future brightened to the tune of $10,000. The Boppy Company will present the Denver Health Foundation with a check at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 19, in the Newborns in Need workroom located in the Denver Public Health building at 605 Bannock St.

This unique program exists to give every baby delivered at Denver Health the healthy start he or she deserves. The program collects thousands of new baby items (and cash donations) through a series of baby showers held across the city throughout the year. Volunteers then package the baby essentials in Warm Welcome bags to be distributed at the hospital to new families who are struggling financially. In 2016, we distributed more than 3,400 Warm Welcome bags, each with a retail value of approximately $110. Each of these beautiful gift bags contains diapers, a sleep sack, bibs, socks, hats, pajamas, baby lotion and shampoo, a stuffed animal, and a book. The program also provides portable cribs and car seats for parents who are unable to afford them. The Newborns In Need program is sustained entirely through the generosity of private donors.

One such donor is The Boppy Company. Founded in 1989, The Boppy Company, based in Golden, is the leader and expert in creating comfortable, supportive and award-winning products for mom and baby. “The Boppy mission is SUPPORT FOR ALL MOMKIND®,” said Nancy Bartley, CEO, The Boppy Company. “To us, support is not just the physical support of the Boppy Pillow, but also the much needed emotional support all new parents need when beginning their parenting journey. We love this program and are pleased that we can support local moms.”
