What is your favorite saying from your mom or dad?

“Put a nickel in it!” – Which I grew up assuming was a common saying used in most households. Turns out, it was unique to mine. Loosely translated it means, “Hurry up, let’s go!”

Who are the best parents from a movie?

Sally Field in Forrest Gump and Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird.

Wonder woman.

Best dad is Dustin Hoffman in Kramer vs. Kramer and best mom is Debra Winger in Terms of Endearment.

I don’t know about a favorite, but I sure heard this a lot – “Hold your horses.” I would then go on to say that if they bought me a horse, I would be glad to hold it!

What is your favorite saying from your mom or dad?

My drive, motivation and insatiable desire to continuously challenge myself comes from my mother saying to me, “if you are not going uphill, you are just coasting in life.”

Sometimes I wish my parents had named me ___________ (fill in the blank).

My name is Jessica Clover and my mom had wanted to name me Clover Jessica but then changed her mind. I would have liked that name.

Fun fact about me:

I raced Slalom and GS (skiing) during my high school years in NY and VT.  I competed in the NY States competition where I raced on the Women’s Olympic GS course in Lake Placid, NY. I still think that skiing is a majestic sport and I take advantage of the beautiful skiing in Colorado.

Once I rode the old Elitch Gardens roller coaster 38 times in a row while singing as many show tunes as we could think of. (I know, weird.)

Dianne Weist and John Mahoney, the parents of Dan in the movie Dan in Real Life.

My nickname was “The Tank” because I was such a chunk, but the nickname didn’t last too long because I was walking at 9 months.

My brother and I used to count the number of times our mother would say “I dunno…” in one day.  It was always a pretty high number.

Sometimes as a child, I wished my parents had named me…

When I was five I would have said Princess Sunflower, but I’m okay
with Haley now.
