THE BOPPY COMPANY DONATES OVER $250,000 WORTH OF BOPPY® PILLOWS TO MOMS-IN-NEED
GOLDEN, Colo. (June 6, 2013) – The Boppy Company, maker of the award-winning Boppy® Feeding and Infant Support Pillow, partnered with Nurse-Family Partnership®, a national nonprofit organization that helps improve the lives of low-income, first-time moms and their babies, to support at-risk moms by donating more than $250,000 worth of Boppy Pillows through The Boppy Effect™: Get One, Give One program.
During the month of May, for every Boppy® Slipcovered Pillow purchased at Babies“R”Us stores and Babiesrus.com, The Boppy Company pledged to donate one Boppy Slipcovered Pillow to Nurse-Family Partnership agencies, which then distributed them to at-risk moms across the country. Through the Get One, Give One program, The Boppy Company was able to meet its giving goal, supporting thousands of new moms and their babies throughout their first year together.
“Our team at The Boppy Company is deeply moved by the dedication and commitment of both NFP nurses and the many brave, new moms in our country,” said Nancy Bartley, CEO of The Boppy Company. “We were proud to step up our support program this year, significantly increasing our total donation goal and adding a mom-to-mom component where consumers were invited to write a personal message of support to new moms on postcards. NFP agencies then delivered these postcards along with Boppy Pillows to moms across the U.S. as part of our Boppy Effect program.”
Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is an innovative community health program that supports low-income, first-time mothers, many of whom are teen moms. NFP matches each new mom with a registered nurse who visits the mom in her home throughout pregnancy until her child’s second birthday. NFP nurses empower each new mom to have a healthy pregnancy, improve her child’s health and development, and achieve economic self-sufficiency by setting goals to go back to school or pursue her career choice. Since its inception, Nurse-Family Partnership has served 172,015 at-risk families and is currently working with close to 26,000 families in 42 states.
