STUDY SHOWS USING CRESCENT-SHAPED PILLOW IMPROVES NURSING RATES IN HOSPITALS

The recently-conducted study showed 51 percent of moms that didn’t use a crescent-shaped nursing pillow left the hospital successfully nursing, while 71 percent of moms that used a crescent-shaped nursing pillow in the hospital left successfully nursing. Therefore, there is a significant difference in nursing success when using a crescent-shaped nursing pillow.*

BOPPY® PILLOW MEETS FLAMMABILITY REQUIREMENTS WITHOUT
THE ADDITION OF FLAME RETARDANT CHEMICALS

GOLDEN, Colo. (May 25, 2011) – Last week Environmental Science and Technology published a study regarding the existence of chemical flame retardants in various childrens’ products. The research article, “Identification of Flame Retardants in Polyurethane Foam Collected from Baby Products,” listed that nursing pillows were tested in the study. The Boppy® Pillow, which is marketed as a feeding and infant support pillow and may be referred to by consumers as a nursing pillow, meets flammability requirements without the addition of flame retardant chemicals and is not made of foam.

All bedding items containing filling material must meet certain flammability standards to be sold in the U.S. The State of California has the strictest standards and all Boppy Pillows are manufactured to meet the flammability requirements of the California Bureau of Home Furnishings. The fabric and filling in the Boppy Feeding and Infant Support Pillow (and slipcovers for those pillows) meet the requirements without the addition of flame retardant chemicals.
